The former Dortmund manager has reportedly told the club he would end his sabbatical early

Despite winning on Saturday at Anfield, there’s been no let up today with regards rumours and gossip surrounding Brendan Rodgers’ position as the Liverpool manager.

Depending on who you read, and who you believe, the current Liverpool manager has between 10 days and Christmas to turn things around, with some claims that he could go as soon as Monday.

However, there have been no indications from Fenway Sports Group that they are looking to replace Rodgers, despite claims that they have held tentative talks with Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti.

But today, the MailOnline have taken things a step further by outright claiming that FSG have spoken with Klopp and that he has named his terms. According to the publication’s site, the 48 year old has indicated he is happy to take charge at Anfield, provided he is the unanimous choice and has 100% control over all transfer decisions.

In his time at the club, Rodgers has found some of his own choices seemingly blocked by the transfer committee, although after a great many major failures in the transfer market over the past few years Rodgers appeared to have more control during the summer. So it’s unlikely that would present a big stumbling block in negotiations if the clubs’ owners are serious about bringing Klopp to Anfield.

The claims this morning come in the wake of a number of comments Rodgers made post-match suggesting he believes there are figures outside of Anfield that are keen to get him out of the club. The Northern Irishman has lost support of fans and many former players and popular figures associated with Liverpool have been out in force to criticise the manager, so it seems a strange time to go on the offensive.

With a Europa League clash on Thursday at home to FC Sion, before the Merseyside derby this weekend, Rodgers has two big games coming up that he must navigate and owners John Henry and Tom Werner will be watching on with interest.

I still don’t know why this man is still a manager at LFC.The owners should let us know if they have no interest in the team..they are killing the spirit of the supports

I’ve said it repeatedly, lfc is too big for BR to manage. His personality can never attract any spectacular player to anfield, that is why he brings in inexperienced lads.

I don’t know whether the owner of the club don’t know what it takes to run football business and if they do, nobody need to tell them that Rodger is taking LFC down every season. He (Rodger) need to be axe and be replace before the club is relegated.

Rodger do not hold the credentials to manage a team as big as LFC, I think he should be relived of his appointment and give chance to those who can take the club back to where they belong in the top flight. YNWA
