It probably wouldn’t be anywhere in his top five favourite lines to read prior to what has been billed as the biggest game of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool career but according to reports, several of the top managers in European football are forming an orderly queue to replace him.
Starting with one that hasn’t been named to much recently, Frank de Boer, Ajax manager, has spoken fondly of the club this week. The former Dutch international has managed the Amsterdam-based club for the past five years, winning four league titles in that time and he is believed to be looking for a new challenge after this season.
The former Barcelona defender mentioned LFC this week, saying that it is a fantastic club and speaking very positively indeed. The timing of his comments are quite telling however, considering that Rodgers’ future is very much on the line, at present.
Elsewhere both Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp have again been heavily linked with the Reds since Friday afternoon, with Ancelotti reportedly having met representatives of the club in New York this week. Ancelotti has indeed been in NY too, making those claims quite interesting, as pictures of his surfaced with former players of his: Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo.
The former AC Milan and Madrid manager has spoken before of his admiration for Liverpool and the clubs’ fanbase, with many claiming that he would be the clubs’ first choice, should Rodgers be sacked.
On the other hand, there have been equally as many reports that Klopp will be the next Reds boss, with reports that he met with club officials after he supposedly traveled to the UK to speak with an unnamed Premier League club. Obviously, that means there are as many as twenty clubs that he could’ve come to speak to, it it’s even true, but the conclusion most jumped to was that he was coming to Anfield.
It cannot be reiterated enough that these reports are all based on unverified claims, other than the fact that Frank de Boer did speak of his admiration for the club, and Ancelotti was actually in the Big Apple. But with Rodgers’ position looking likely to be untenable if the derby is lost tomorrow, at least one of those links may become reality in the next seven days.
Do you believe Rodgers should be sack and, if so, which of the above three would you prefer to manage LFC? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Please sir get liverpool fc our prefered coach which no other person but jurgen klopp.thanks
Jurgen klopp is hungry for trophy which every body knows then he can as well mounth serious competition with our rilvers
Please we are tired of that name Rodgers we need Ancelotti or Klopp. He has spent too much and yet he doenst have a solid 1st Eleven players. Rodgers must go, I pray liverpool losses against Everton so he can go.
Rodgers OUT and Klopp IN
With jurgen klopp my darling team will win a quadrup trophy and he is a great tactician.we never walk alone
I would like BR should be sacked even before the derby match and bring Klopp.
I personally think that Rogers should be sacked for this one reason of many he does not know how to play players in the right position and my choice would be klopp he is an exciting manager that attracts top quality players and reus would probably come to Liverpool if he was manager klopp and kop has a good ring to it
BR out, calos.a in.
Rodgers is like an itch you cant scratch, Klopp, Ancelotti or De boer all big improvements on Bodgers.
HE SHOULD BE SACKED LONG BEFORE. WHY? 1. HE DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO DEFEND AT ALL 2. HE FORGOT WHAT TYPE OF CLUB LIVERPOOL IS-LOOK HOW HE PLAYED WITH MAN UNITED….HUMILIATING 3. HE COULDN’T ACTUATE, STIMULATE THE TEAM. THEY DON’T HAVE EMOTION, SPRIT, STRENGTH, PACE OF A TOP FOUR CLUB. SO BRING ANCELOTTI AS IT’S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO BE HIM WITHOUT A JOB-FREE
It’s not debatable. Is he still there ? Brenda is incompetent to manage Liverpool. He had overstayed.
If we want to win d CL again let’s go for Ancellotti but if we want to win d EPL then Klop or De boer is d best option
FSG will NOT sack Rodgers!
rodgers out klopp in
BR must be sacked
why fsg’ll nt sack em,rodger mst b sacked after 48hr gud 4 noting br…….bring on klopp
Ancelloti is preferable 4 nw, wot we nid nw is senior n xperience players n not average players. It’s only Ancelloti dat can fetch us does calibers of players.
calos ancelotti is the best option for me
ROGERS OUT KLOP IN THX
It doesn’t mean either we will beat Everton or not, fsg should sack Roger and bring in klop Jurgen…. Pls send Rogers away with his useless philosophy that has expired
Canoe ancolotti it the right man out for job let the Mr rogers out for ancolotti
Ancelotti would be a good replacement for Rodgers,as he has a lot of experience with good teams, and would bring that to Liverpool.
