The fans choice for many, but Klopp is not the only one reportedly keen on the Liverpool job

It probably wouldn’t be anywhere in his top five favourite lines to read prior to what has been billed as the biggest game of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool career but according to reports, several of the top managers in European football are forming an orderly queue to replace him.

Starting with one that hasn’t been named to much recently, Frank de Boer, Ajax manager, has spoken fondly of the club this week. The former Dutch international has managed the Amsterdam-based club for the past five years, winning four league titles in that time and he is believed to be looking for a new challenge after this season.

The former Barcelona defender mentioned LFC this week, saying that it is a fantastic club and speaking very positively indeed. The timing of his comments are quite telling however, considering that Rodgers’ future is very much on the line, at present.

Elsewhere both Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp have again been heavily linked with the Reds since Friday afternoon, with Ancelotti reportedly having met representatives of the club in New York this week. Ancelotti has indeed been in NY too, making those claims quite interesting, as pictures of his surfaced with former players of his: Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo.

The former AC Milan and Madrid manager has spoken before of his admiration for Liverpool and the clubs’ fanbase, with many claiming that he would be the clubs’ first choice, should Rodgers be sacked.

On the other hand, there have been equally as many reports that Klopp will be the next Reds boss, with reports that he met with club officials after he supposedly traveled to the UK to speak with an unnamed Premier League club. Obviously, that means there are as many as twenty clubs that he could’ve come to speak to, it it’s even true, but the conclusion most jumped to was that he was coming to Anfield.

It cannot be reiterated enough that these reports are all based on unverified claims, other than the fact that Frank de Boer did speak of his admiration for the club, and Ancelotti was actually in the Big Apple. But with Rodgers’ position looking likely to be untenable if the derby is lost tomorrow, at least one of those links may become reality in the next seven days.

Do you believe Rodgers should be sack and, if so, which of the above three would you prefer to manage LFC? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

BR till christmas at least…..Its painful at the moment but give him a fair chance.
We’ve lost 4 top class players if you count Sturridge and now Hendo and Benteke out.
Give the new young team a little time to gel and lets see where we are then.

Either win or lost at Everton Rodger should get sacked and replaced by Ancerlotti, klopp or Boar. He is now depend on Sturridge to turn around the ball but he always forget that Dan will easily injuired in games. If keep giving Rodger chances, he will only make thing worst….win game draw games and lost games. He only knows how to buy good players but failed to use them!!! At last lfc will lost all the good players on loan or even worst players such as Cautinho will leave lfc if the club out of top four. Spent 300m with middle table position, that is pretty bad. Most of the teams spent less than 50m already had better position than lfc now. Three years without silverware and not surprisingly with this season again if we stick with Rodger neither top four finished.

FSG. If really good in decision making they will immediately sack BR & grap the chance to sign KLOP or ACCELOTI…otherwise FSG become fucking sport group

  • Bob C says:

We’ve had two years of disastrous defending. BR is unable to put this right. There is no way forward until this matter is resolved. BR must go, and now.

  • chrisnd says:

Rodgers should sack immediately without wasting time again and replace with klopp or Ancelloti liverpool fc is bigger than him he can’t manage the affairs of this big club I don’t see it happening with him in charge he can’t qualify us to top four if he still there so he deserve to go after spending much for three good year now he is in charge liverpool still building as he is always saying so when will he finish building and take us to champion league position where we belong I’m tire of watching liverpool matches under him

  • Scouse says:

If Rogers does go, they should also get rid of Ian ayre and the other fools in the transfer committee. Ancelloti is the man for Liverpool.

We’re an utter shambles. Brendan has worked his magic touch to turn really good players into players who haven’t a clue. Ancellotti would at least challenge for the title with this group.

  • Domah Mohammad Jaheer says:

BR must hv the gut to leave lfc as he’s detroying lfc and fans r fed up wz him.we nd to get klopp or CA to rebuild lfc trust
