The right back scored a poachers goal from left back tonight

GK/Defence

Adam Bogdan – Apart from a couple of early incidents, Bogdan had little to do in his second start of the season. He showed off a touch of the sweeper keeper to head to a team mate in the first 10 minutes and generally looked calm and switched on throughout. A good stop late in stoppage time was a further example of a keeper that doesn’t switch off. Appears a much more capable back up than Brad Jones ever did. A few more saves and we’d have given him the MotM award. Rating – 7

Nathaniel Clyne – His goal aside, Clyne adapted well to playing on the left and offered some genuine support down the left for his team mates. Rating – 7

Dejan Lovren – The fact that Lovren’s performance was barely noticeable may not sound like a positive thing but it really is, where the Croat’s concerned. He was cool, assured and didn’t put much of a foot wrong. Good display. Rating – 6.5

Kolo Toure – May seem a harsh rating but another early exit for Kolo may spell the end of any meaningful Liverpool career, as the chances are likely to be few and far between from here on in. Did fairly well in the short time he was on but defence looked much stronger once Skrtel came on. Rating – 5.5

Connor Randall – A superb debut from the 20 year old, who came in for Clyne (who switched to left back) and looked like he’d played there for months. Did well defensively but his best work was in getting forward in support of Ibe. Could we have another Jon Flanagan on our hands here? Rating – 7
