According the German press (namely Bild), Jurgen Klopp has lined up his first big signing after taking over as manager of Liverpool in October.

The German publication claims that Klopp has targeted 22 year old German goalkeeper, Timo Horn. The German U21 international has spent his whole career with Bundesliga side Cologne, becoming the team’s number one in 2012, with the side in the German second division but tipped to go up by William Hill.

But Horn has impressed in the Bundesliga, attracting the attentions of a number of German and European sides. According to Bild the young goalkeeper could be available for as little as £6 million (reportedly his release clause). A relative steal for an impressive young keeper, with over 100 games experience.

The reports claim that Horn would be considered competition for Simon Mignolet, however the 22 year old could no doubt slip straight into the first team.

Considering the amount of goalkeepers (primarily German) that Liverpool have been linked to since Klopp’s arrival, it’s hard to know if there is any truth in any of these rumours. With the likes of Horn, ter Stegen, Karius and Leno all being linked, any would represent a great signing but don’t hold your breath just yet.
