It feels like time has flown and he’s been here for years but it’s barely been two months since Liverpool took a potentially historic step and appointed Jurgen Klopp as manager.

In that short space of time, Liverpool have improved in many aspects, laying waste to last seasons champions, this seasons favourites and annihilating a strong Southampton side to progress to the Capital One Cup semi final.

Whilst similar concerns about the goalkeeper and defensive fragility remains, and clear squad strengthening is needed, it is clear that Klopp is already putting his heart and soul into his new project and wants to make Liverpool great again.

But that is nothing new to former Reds manager, Gérard Houllier, who says that Klopp has always been a Liverpool fan and was always talking about the club.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Houllier said: “Jürgen has personality.

“I know Jürgen from UEFA meetings and he has always liked Liverpool. He had a passion for the club.

“He was always talking about Liverpool; what we did, how we lived. I can tell you he was a true fan of Liverpool and he was following the results before going there.”

The German manager was already highly thought of at Anfield, with Liverpool fans feeling a strong affinity for the manager and his Dortmund side; seeing some clear parallels between how the German wore his heart on his sleeve and his personality drove his side to success.

And for anybody at Anfield as Liverpool took on his Borussia Dortmund side last summer will have seen the reaction to Klopp, touching the famous old sign before descending down the tunnel, standing on the half way line watching Liverpool’s players training and taking in the atmosphere.

Houllier brought a great deal of success to Anfield, with only the Premier League (and Champions League) title escaping his grasp. But he is confident Klopp can be successful at Liverpool.

He continued: “I like what Jürgen said, ‘I am not going to sign anybody’. They are in the semi-final of the Capital One Cup, which could give a lot of confidence for the rest of the season.

“We saw that when we won and you saw that with Chelsea. When [Jose] Mourinho won that trophy [in 2005], he won the title on the back of it.

“Sometimes with a competition like that you get a sense of relief first because you win something and then it gives you confidence.

“I would not neglect that aspect of their season and they play the second leg of their semi-final at home. It is interesting.

“They are still in the Europa League too, and they have a role to play in that. That can bring them confidence.”

Hi, me am a great fan and supporter of Liv fc and more now since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp. I like everything about him, his philosophy, Character, enthusiasm, and everything he is bringing to the team. The discipline, organisation, methods of play and tactics, there are yet lots to come and he got lots to prove as well. But couple of aspects that’s really please me about him is the respect he seems to have for his players, supporters and even staffs. No matter what errors are committed on the pitch he never criticizes he’s players, the greatest example was his comment about Simon mignolet. Cause he knows that errors are in human nature and that he just need to work more on it and try to avoid the same in the future. That’s why we can see on the faces of all players how they like to play for him and they all seems to be willing to prove themselves to be given the chance to show their abilities in the firs team and that i can tell you it’s much appreciated and grateful for any team . Cause you know that Liv fc academy have some very young and good talents down there just waiting to evolve from the dark .. And we all know that Klopp is the kinda manager that like promoting young players and make players evolved from the dark and the unknown. Like Klopp has mentioned before he is very happy with the players he has right now and is willing to work with them and take the best out of them. Why would i buy star players if i can myself produced such talent that’s what Klopp is all about and what could make the difference at Liv Fc. I have been a soccer player myself and was i quite good talent at this time , with two best player and goal scoring awards. I can tell you by experiences any player will kill and do anything to have a chance to play for such manager. Cause he speaks with his heart and experiences and seem to know more than any Manager Liv Fc ever had the real value of a player and how to catch their attention. At the same time with such words from him, you can now understand much better when you seem the new liv fc team on the pitch, we can feel their desire, willingness, to win the game even if the end results is not to our satisfaction. But at least the desire and confidence is well on track. Even though the Liv Fc team to possesses star players or world class players, the new team is starting to take shape and am pretty sure the team will be a joyful to watch every single game after Sir Jurgen Klopp has set up all the tune at the same level… The best yet to come no doubt about it .. Just be patient and show Klopp some more respect and faith
