It may sound a bit rich following the latest round of individual errors that have seen Liverpool drop points, but the latest victim of the Reds’ seemingly terminal illness for defensive errors – Adam Bogdan – is claiming that the team will work hard to prevent more mistakes.

The Liverpool reserve goalkeeper had his big chance to replace Simon Mignolet on Sunday (after Mignolet’s latest round of blunders the previous week) but had failed his audition within 3 minutes, as he dropped a cross, only to be unfortunate enough to then have the ball kicked out of his hands after reclaiming it.

The argument made by many following the goal was that he shouldn’t have been dropping a cross in the first place. Luck is one thing, but a complete lack of composure has crippled this set of players for too long.

However, Bogdan is adamant that the players will learn from Sunday and ensure the same level of mistakes aren’t repeated. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com yesterday, Bogdan said: “It’s not easy to recover after a goal like that in the first couple of minutes. It’s never going to be easy.

“Of course it hit us and Watford managed to score another goal, which was another blow. We tried to come back into the game and I think we gave everything, although I don’t think we played very well. But we tried. Watford were really good but we – and myself – gave them a headstart.

“I dropped the ball, of course. There’s a mistake there. After that, I felt my hand was on the ball and I was going to bring it out.

“Obviously he knocked it out of my hand – but we are talking about split-seconds. Through the bodies, of course it’s hard to see. I’m not blaming anybody but myself to drop the first ball.”

The former Bolton backup had previously only appeared for the Reds in the Capital One Cup and had seemingly done himself no harm after a couple of strong performances, even being the hero in a penalty shootout against Carlisle.

But despite his mistake on Sunday, it’s likely Bogdan will get another chance to impress on Boxing Day at home to Leicester, with Mignolet not looking too likely to return. And the 28 year old is keen to move on and concentrate on upcoming games.

He continued: “It’s not easy when these things happen and the team has to fight back and work really hard to get back into the game. It’s not ideal.

“The only thing you can do is go back to the training ground and work really hard, like we’ve been doing, and then correct these mistakes. Hopefully these mistakes will go away and we can start winning games.

“Apart from the very big mistakes, there were some other things during the game. We need to look at it and correct it as quickly as possible.

“Then forget this result and focus on Leicester and the next games to get back on track. The games are coming thick and fast and we need to concentrate on those.”

First of all a belated welcome to JK, i don’t care about our short term result, you are a top coach and a massive upgrade on that conman that you had replaced. The problems you have today is not your fault, its the fault of our owners who with reasons only known to themselves had kept BR at the start of the season, let him spent hundreds of millions on absolute crap players and let you inherit this bunch of losers. We understand that publicly at least you have to support this bunch as there is nothing much you could do realistically until the summer.

However for the short term i am sure JK would recognize that we have not 1 but 2 horrendous goal keepers and if we even aspire to compete to be in the top 4 let alone the win the title, these 2 cannot be part of LFC. For SM especially, he has had enough time to prove himself but i got to say he had proven to be consistent, consistently bad.

Just imagine, our outfield players works hard to score goals only for our keepers to make blunders and undone all their hard work, not occasionally, but on a regular basis. Talking about morale sapping ! This had to be rectified and JK can do so a little more than a week.

Of course there is the rest of the team our defenders (except for Sakho who is worthy of wearing the shirt) midfield, our attacking players, especially the one which cost us 29 mill and a part time footballer (sorry he must be as i had only saw him once on the field in the Man City game), they all need a solution but we would get there in due time.

You are a top coach but we know, you can’t walk on water and only a normal one. Anyone who was supporting BR now understands the kind of mess he was building and left us with ?
