GK/Defence

Adam Bogdan – Other than the Southampton goal after barely a minute, Bogdan didn’t have a great deal to do. After the goal, the Reds struggled to get a foothold but the home side didn’t threaten too much. Nothing he did tonight will have harmed his position. Rating – 6.5

Connor Randall – Was shockingly bad in the first 25 minutes but grew into the game with the help of his more experienced team mates. Looked strong and confident later in the game.  Rating – 7

Martin Skrtel – Neither he nor Lovren were at any sort of fault for the Southampton goal and following the home side taking the lead he was excellent from there on in. Rating – 7.5

Dejan Lovren – Ably supported Skrtel and defended resolutely throughout. Looks a totally different player under Klopp and seeing his side win 6-1 at his old stomping ground will have made those early boos and jeers much more easy to swallow. Rating – 7

Alberto Moreno – Another excellent, all-action display from Moreno who has probably doubled his valuation since Klopp’s arrival. Will no doubt debate with Origi whether the goal was his but laid it on a plate for his team mate with a sweetly struck effort. Rating – 7.5
