Jurgen and the player celebrating Adam Lallana’s late winner

What a game! Liverpool vs Norwich often delivers high-scoring feasts but nothing quite like what we saw today, as many bets at dailyaccas.com almost came to an early end.

The Reds can take plenty of positives from the goals scored, with Roberto Firmino grabbing a brace and Adam Lallana, James Milner and Jordan Henderson all chipping in for a change.

And while we can concentrate on the positives in the here and now, the aftermath will not be pretty for Jurgen Klopp as the Reds let another 4 goals slip by with barely a whimper, and again raises questions about Liverpool’s goalkeeper and centre backs.

But thankfully, those are problems that are not for us to solve. Instead, we can just spend the night reveling in the fact that, for the first time in what feels like a millennium, the team scored more than 1 goal and the players showed great spirit to fight back from going behind on a number of occasions.

On to the player ratings below.

I am relieved that we managed to win this match, but l am really concerned with our defence. This is an issue that has been an eyesore and has not been rectified since Brendon Rodgers took over from Kenny Dalglish and the LFC hierarchy decided to let Steve Clarke go. Steve Clarke managed the defensive side of the team and we had the best or second best defence record in the EPL for the one and a half seasons that Dalglish and Clarke were in charge of the team. The team created lots of scoring chances, but just failed to score as we hit the woodwork a record number of times in that period.

Klopp needs to get a defence coach and replace the current goalkeeping coach. I am certain a good defence coach will improve our team’s defending, and also identify better defenders to buy if the current ones can’t be improved. A better goalkeeping coach might be able to improve Mignolet’s error prone goalkeeping, and hopefully also identify a better goalkeeper to replace him as number one goalkeeper. Mignolet and Ward can then fight for 2nd spot, but Bogdan should be sold as he is hopeless.
