According to reports this morning, Liverpool were impressed with something other than their own 10-man performance against Crystal Palace last Sunday; the performance of the home side’s star man, Yohan Cabaye.
The 30 year old, classy midfielder joined the London based side in a somewhat surprising move in the summer from PSG where he has been head and shoulders ahead of his team mates for the majority of the season.
If Palace’s struggles continue, Cabaye could well be on his way in the summer, and Liverpool will reportedly be at the front of any queue to sign the French star.
Elsewhere, there are some strange reports from Italy’s Per Sempre Napoli, who are claiming that Napoli will look to sign up Daniel Sturridge in the summer if their star striker Gonzalo Higuain moves away from the Serie A club.
The Argentine is reportedly a target for a number of top European sides, with Liverpool themselves having taken a big interest in the former Madrid striker and Sturridge would undoubtedly excel in Italy.
Quite why the club would wish to sell their star striker to a potential European rival though, is the real question. And is something that is left out of the reports.
