Kolo Toure – The complete opposite of Enrique, Toure is perhaps the most popular figure at Anfield, which is why many will be very sad to see him leave in the summer.
But with no new contract, or even 12 month extension, in the offing, it’s almost a certainty that the Ivory Coast legend will be playing elsewhere next season.
Toure has been in fine form though since Christmas. With many preferring him in the team recently to either Lovren or Skrtel. However, the return of Sakho and Lovren as first choice centre backs may have quickly ended any chances of Toure being given a bit more time at the club.
Looking past sentimentality though, Liverpool need to move forward. And as popular as Kolo still is, the club have been too guilty of sentimentality in recent years, to the point where it has even held LFC back. So, despite the fact we’ll be sorry to see him go, we’ll always fondly remember the 60+ games he played (and definitely that goal) during a barren spell at the club.
