Player ratings: LIVERPOOL 1-1 Tottenham

|
Sakho was superb on the night and kept most of United's attacks at bay

Sakho seems to have regressed since the break, if today is anything to go by

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Look shaky throughout and often appears to be wearing reins, such is his inability to stray away from his line by more than a few foot. Could do little about Kane’s goal, in fairness, but what is it people like to say about the best keepers? They pull of the saves they’ve got no right to. Mignolet simply never does. Rating – 5.5

Nathaniel Clyne – The England man was excellent on the right and provided great support further up the field. His only down-side is his lack of height, which was telling in the cross for Kane’s goal. He can’t be blamed for being short but an extra inch and he’d have headed that ball away. Rating – 7

Mamadou SakhoThankfully, none of the centre back’s mistakes led to a goal but that shouldn’t pull the wool over fan’s eyes; Sakho was dire today. His passing improved slightly as the game progressed but he slipped constantly and made easy tackles and interceptions look hard, often miscuing and offering Spurs chances out of nothing. Hopefully this was the ‘1-in-5’ poor games out of the way, and we get the superb Sakho of recent games back next weekend. Rating 5

Dejan Lovren – If Sakho was dire, Lovren was the complete opposite. Instead of being the able deputy, the defender seemed to sense his team mates’ struggles and stepped up to block, tackle and intercept most things Spurs could muster. He was key in ensuring only five shots got through. Rating – 7.5 Man of the Match

Alberto Moreno – A very encouraging return. Moreno provided width and his concentration levels looked to have improved. No blips or lapses to speak of and relatively solid at the back too. Rating – 6.5
