Fiorentina will make a move for Liverpool midfielder Joao Teixeira, according La Nazione (via tuttomercatoweb).
The Florence based newspaper believes manager Paulo Sousa can convince his countryman to join him in Italy on a free transfer. The 23 year old’s contract expires in the summer and with very little game time under Jurgen Klopp, he is not expected to sign a new on.
Teixeira has had fleeting appearances in the Liverpool first team but has impressed more out on loan and was named Brighton & Hove Albion’s player of the year last season when he was playing for the Seagulls in the Championship.
Despite those impressive performances on the South coast, he has not made more appearances this campaign with just one start in the FA Cup and one substitute appearance each in the Premier League and the Europa League. With Klopp looking to bring in his own players this summer, the Portuguese midfielder’s time at Anfield seems to be up.
