Liverpool are interested in signing Schalke left back Sead Kolasinac, according to Bild. The German newspaper also believe Chelsea and West Ham are hot on the heels of the Reds in the race for the 23 year old.
The Bosnian international’s contract expires at the end of the season and Jurgen Klopp could sign the player on a Bosman free transfer in January. The Reds did the same thing last season when they signed centre back Joel Matip on a pre-contract from the German club.
Kolasinac has spoken to the media about his contract situation and says he will only sign if the contract is right for both sides and that he doesn’t feel any pressure to sign before January, indicating his willingness to speak to other clubs.
Schalke, who are keen not to lose another player for free like Matip, have said they would like the player to stay with general manager Christian Heidel saying to Bild:
“Sead is a true Schalke boy whom we’d like to keep.”
