Liverpool had a scout in attendance as Benfica beat Dynamo Kiev 1-0 in the Champions League last night, according to SAPO Sport. The Portuguese website believe the Reds had a representative at the match along with 25 other clubs.

Without naming them all, the most notable teams with scouts at the match were Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

SAPO Sport were not willing to suggest which players the clubs were scouting at the Estadio da Luz yesterday. From the starting line up from the two teams, the best guess is that the Reds may have been looking at Viktor Lindelof.

Swedish international Lindelof has been linked with the Reds in recent months and could be seen as a replacement for the outgoing Mamadou Sakho who looks set to depart Liverpool in January. At 22, Lindelof is a young centre half and may fit the type of profile Klopp is looking for in a defender.
