Schalke full back Sead Kolasinac looks set to remain with the Bundesliga club after revealing to German Newspaper WAZ that he is close to signing a new contract.

The Bosnian international current deal expires at the end of the current campaign and could have begun discussions about a free transfer in January, but the 242year old has said he has held talks with Schalke Sporting Director Christian Heidel about a new deal that would keep him in Gelsenkirchen:

“My advisor is now in contact with sports director Christian Heidel. I can not reveal any more details… I’d like to stay. Schalke is a great club. I can imagine staying here… The England rumors existed almost every day. But they are rumours. I have not been busy with it.”

Kolasinac was linked w to Liverpool, West Ham and West Bromwich Albion with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp seemingly keen to take a second player for free from Schalke in as many years.

Joel Matip joined from Schalke on a free transfer last summer and the Cameroonian international has been an unqualified success so far. It looks like the Reds will however need to look at another club to solve their left back problem.
