According to the print version of Bild (via The Mirror,) Borussia Dortmund have said that it would be a waste of time for us to try and sign Christian Pulisic in the near future with the American one of our key January targets.
The young winger has hugely impressed since bursting onto the scene for the German side last season and has been a regular fixture ever since, including in the Champions League in which he has played every game this season.
Those appearances have seen him earn quite the glowing reputation for being one of the most gifted teenagers on the planet and the idea that he could work with Jurgen Klopp certainly made us excited.
However, it now appears that the young star will be going nowhere after this pretty no-nonsense story has come out of the Bundesliga side.
The club’s sporting director Michael Zorc has been pretty unequivocal in his comments about the potential move, he said:
“We have communicated very clearly that we won’t sell Christian and that he’s very much part of our plans.
“Liverpool don’t need to waste time. They can save their money”
It could be a blow, then, but as ever, you never know with transfers so we won’t give up just yet.
