The hectic fixture schedule really bit hard yesterday afternoon as the Reds put in a lacklustre performance against Sunderland to draw 2-2.
There was evidently plenty of tired legs in the squad after our New Year’s Eve win over Manchester City at Anfield as we failed to find anything near our usual fluency.
We cannot simply dismiss the performance with that excuse, though.
Sunderland also played that recently and so the Reds, more than anything, drew because we weren’t good enough on the day.
The point leaves us five behind Chelsea now with all involved with the Anfield club hoping they lose at Tottenham tomorrow whilst we now have to plan for an FA Cup game next weekend against Plymouth.
In the meantime, Jurgen Klopp will also be thinking about who performed poorly yesterday and we think these two could be at the forefront of his thoughts…
