Whilst in-comings were at a premium for the Reds during the window just gone there were a fair few outgoings.

Indeed, we didn’t sign anyone during the transfer market in January but quite a few fringe players were let go for varying lengths of time.

Tiago Ilori finally left as he joined Championship side Reading on a permanent deal whilst loan moves were sealed for Mamadou Sakho and Lazar Markovic.

Sakho was certainly needing the game time with him not playing this year and joined Crystal Palace whilst Markovic went to Hull City after a poor spell at Sporting Lisbon for the first half of this season.

We’ll certainly be watching to see how the young Serbian does at the KCOM Stadium and it looks like, as you’d expect, Jurgen Klopp will be too.

Indeed he’s been impressed with what he’s seen from him so far at Hull and so maybe he could have a future after all.

Klopp said (as quoted by The Liverpool Echo🙂

“He still has a contract. Why should I say now: ‘no chance for Lazar Markovic’.

“If he plays very well at Hull….if he plays very good against us then there’s no future for him at Liverpool!

“But if he’s really good in all the other games then why not? He’s still a young boy.”

Markovic will not play against us for Hull this weekend, though, and Klopp was made aware of that during his press conference today.

Is there a way back for Markovic, Reds? Let us know below!
