When we initially saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s name linked with Liverpool we thought it nothing but a nice pipe dream.
Indeed, whilst we’re a massive club we’re still behind the other big European giants in terms of financial power and, indeed, Champions League offerings at the moment – making such a deal unlikely.
The latter could, hopefully, change by the end of the season providing we finish in the top four and, apparently, the former might not be an issue either.
That’s because, whilst it seems like a wild dream, The Guardian is reporting that the Reds are confident of signing the Gabon forward ahead of Manchester City.
Now this would be a real statement on our behalf if we could pull it off and would surely leave us with a great chance at making a proper go of a title challenge next season.
Indeed, with him and Sadio Mane up top we’d certainly not have to worry about being as slow and lacklustre as we have been recently.
