According to Calciomercato, the Reds are looking to sign Danilo from Real Madrid in a deal that we’re really torn over.
It’s been an interesting season for us – if you can use that word – with James Milner our ‘established’ left-back and many other issues with squad depth coming to light.
One area that hasn’t stood out as much as it might have, though, is right back with Nathaniel Clyne a pretty regular presence and Trent Alexander-Arnold already looking a suitable back-up.
That, then, is why we’re surprised about this story – if it can be believed – as the Real Madrid man is a right back himself.
Of course, he’s a class player and would bolster our strength in depth but we can’t help but feel the fee he would command would surely be better spent elsewhere on the squad.
