On a depleted weekend of Premier League action the Reds rounded off the fixture list with a game against Burnley at Anfield yesterday.
And, after an early scare, we took the three points thanks to a 2-1 win via goals from Gini Wijnaldum and Emre Can.
As always, talk before the game was about how we’d perform against a ‘lesser side’ and it looked like we were going to once again get caught out.
We did rally, though, and whilst we were by no means brilliant, we ground out what could prove to be a vital win.
We’re now just a point behind Manchester City ahead of our game with them next weekend and we’ll certainly be needing an improvement on matters if we’re to win that.
Time, then, to rate the players from a gritty victory…
