As quoted by The Daily Star, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has said that he has nothing against James Rodriguez.
It’s been a transfer rumour that has really caught the imagination of late – though it does seem the work of fantasy – in that the Colombian international could move to the Reds.
And, though we’ve no real inclination to suggest a deal is imminent, we are keen to see if there is an inkling of him moving away from the Bernabeu – especially given he doesn’t always play there.
The French football legend, though, has come out in support of the South American, and has tried to explain why he doesn’t always get 90 minutes – he said:
“I haven’t got anything against James, quite the opposite.
“I bring him off a lot, but that’s because he’s an attacking player and he works very hard. There’s nothing more to it.”
Looks like there isn’t a rift, then, though we’d hardly expect Zizou to come out and say otherwise and so we’ll just have to wait and see what the summer brings.
