According to The Times, Liverpool will appoint Steven Gerrard as the club’s U18 manager from next season – something we all expected and wanted to see.

The Reds’ legend has been in and around the club since earlier this year in a capacity that’s seen him learn the ropes around the coaching set-up at different age groups.

And, it now appears, he is obviously ready to go a bit more solo as he takes charge of the young Reds from 2017/18.

Certainly, we’re sure his experience is going to come in handy but we’re also keen to see that he does genuinely coach the players into a suitable style to help them into the first team.

And, on that note, we also hope that Gerrard is going to prove himself in this role to begin the process of him becoming a future Liverpool manager further down the line.

Thoughts, Reds? Let us know below!
