It’s been a pretty awkward first season for Loris Karius – one we’re hoping will at least have taught him a great deal about playing for the club.

When he was signed, of course, the German was highly-rated coming in from the Bundesliga and looked as though he was going to take the place of Simon Mignolet as our first choice stopper.

Indeed, once he’d recovered from a hand injury he was into the team but it soon became an issue as he made some significant errors.

That, then, saw him come out of the side and, in league games since, he has not featured up until this point with Mignolet displaying some good form of late.

The question is, then, what next for the young German? Well Jurgen Klopp has addressed just that – as quoted by The Liverpool Echo:

“Now Loris has to be the real challenger. He deals with the situation really well also. He has said nothing in public – the only possibility to change the situation is always on the training pitch and that is how it is. This is the business.”

Looks like Karius is staying for now, Reds. What are your thoughts? Let us know below!
