As quoted by the club’s official website, Jurgen Klopp revealed just how he felt when Watford hit the crossbar deep into injury time of the second half last night.

The Reds came out of the traps at quite a pace last night at Vicarage Road but the same could be said about our hosts who were clearly keen to put a dent in our top four hopes.

We rode things out, though, and thanks to Emre Can we saw ourselves take the three points but not before Sebastian Prodl had hit the bar in the final minute.

Naturally, then, we were all relieved to see that moment pass by without a goal and, certainly, Klopp was feeling the same.

The German said:

“I said to the boys after the game: ‘If you want to kill me, that’s a good way to try’ It’s crazy, it’s crazy, [it gave me] 500 million grey hairs! The situation tonight, we’d already defended it and then they had three players at the second post. What can you say?”

The main thing is, then, we got away with it and now the onus has to be on the side to win our final three games and secure a top four finish.
