We won’t lie to you, before the summer we hadn’t really thought of Gelson Martins as a Liverpool target but as has so often been the way under Jurgen Klopp, we’ve his name arise seemingly out of nowhere.
Now, then, we are familiar with the tricky winger from Sporting Lisbon and, with his energetic style out on the flanks and young age, he does look like a Klopp player.
And, what’s more, it appears the Reds are trying to make the link-up a reality with A Bola – via The Metro – saying that a £43.7 million bid is going to be launched.
For sure, then, that would represent quite the outlay given we’ve been linked with other significant moves and so either we’re going to splurge a massive amount of cash or most of these reports are wide of the mark.
Time will tell.
