According to The Express, first-team football was the main factor behind former Reds target Ryan Sessegnon staying with Fulham.
The young left-back tore up the Championship last season for the Cottagers and was therefore linked with the likes of us and Tottenham.
He has, however, decided to sign his first pro-deal with his boyhood club and so if we want to sign him we’ll likely have to wait until next season at least.
In many ways, though, we’re pleased he’s staying put for now as he is more likely to play more first team football for the men from west London and so perhaps we’ll benefit in the long run.
For now, though, this deal looks a non-runner and so we’ll have to look elsewhere to get a new left-back.
