As quoted by Omnisport – via The Liverpool Echo – Reds target Rafa Soares has spoken of how flattered he is by being linked with the Anfield side.

The Reds, of course, are looking for a left-back with James Milner proving our best option there at the moment and so it makes sense to see the likes of Soares getting linked – as per The Echo.

And it seems as though he would enjoy a move to Anfield, though he is currently focused on getting more experience with his current club FC Porto over in Portugal.

He said:

“I know I’ve been followed by English clubs especially after our campaign.

“Liverpool are a great club and to be linked is an enormous honour for me. I followed Liverpool from a young age and I shiver every time I listen to You’ll Never Walk Alone, it’s unique!

“Liverpool are famous and popular in Portugal where people value the history of a club. I’m naturally flattered, but I’m a Porto player and focused on succeeding here.”

Interesting words from Soares, then, who clearly has some affection for the club.

He doesn’t appear too fussed about leaving his current side, though, and so it remains to be seen what happens.
