As quoted by The Guardian, Frank de Boer has revealed that he won’t be making a move for Mamadou Sakho with the defender proving too expensive for them to try and sign.

The powerful French defender has been out of our side for a year now after falling out with Jurgen Klopp and spent the second half of last season on loan with Palace under Sam Allardyce.

He proved a favourite there, too, but it seems as though that any permanent deal will not be going through before the window shuts in just over a week.

The Dutch manager said:

“Everybody knows he had a major impact last season and, when he’s available for us, I think that is a quality injection for the club. It is not like this now because he is much too expensive for the club.”

Sakho, then, doesn’t seem set to move to Palace and it remains to be seen just where he is going to be once September arrives.

Indeed, if he’s still at the club would it be perhaps time that he and Klopp bury the hatchet?
