As quoted by the club’s official website, Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Philippe Coutinho could feature for the club against Sevilla this week.

The Reds return to the Champions League group stages and will be looking to kick things off with a win in front of the Anfield crowd against the Spanish side.

For sure, with them beating us in the Europa League final of 2016 there is real cause to try and beat them even more than usual and Coutinho could be a part of that.

Klopp said:

“We play on Wednesday, we play on Saturday, we play, play, play, play, play. I will have the situation all the time now over the next three or four weeks.

“We thought it best to give him three or four days proper training and then he’ll be available for us, which is very good news.

“Phil is a fantastic player, and hopefully we can use him as quickly as possible.”

The Brazilian could be back in the side before too long, then, and whatever you think about what happened in the summer that is still a more than welcome boost for us this season.
