According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool are thought to have been handed a boost in the chase for Napoli full-back Faouzi Ghoulam ahead of a potential transfer.
The Reds have had some issues at full-back for some time but it has to be said that both Alberto Moreno and Andrew Robertson are looking like decent options at the moment.
The report, however, suggests that the fact that Ghoulam looks unlikely to extend his contract with Napoli is of interest to the Reds and could encourage them to make a bid.
For sure, Ghoulam is a top class player and is part of the Napoli squad that is looking set to challenge for Serie A but it seems clear that he’s open to moving away.
It remains to be seen, though, if the Reds do decide that we need him.
