According to Four Four Two, Stefan de Vrij looks set to hand Liverpool a blow and sign a new deal for Lazio.
The men from Anfield, as pretty much any pundit would tell you, need a new centre-half to challenge the likes of Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren at the back but it looks as though de Vrij will not be on his way in.
Indeed, he looks set to sign a new deal with his current club and the links with him will surely subside for a bit at least.
It’s a similar feeling to the situation with Virgil van Dijk in the sense we’re going to miss out but we’re probably not as gutted as this deal was never heavily linked, more just rumoured more slightly.
Even so, we need a new defender as soon as possible for the squad.
