According to The Mirror, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is ready to leave the club in January in order to make the World Cup squad for England.

The Reds forward has been hit by many injuries during his time with the club but this season he has seemed fitter for a more prolonged spell.

He has still had limited minutes on the pitch, though, with the likes of Roberto Firmino preferred by Jurgen Klopp up front in most games.

Indeed, Sturridge has often been used as a substitute and though he has scored a few goals, he needs to be playing more, you feel, if he is to go to Russia 2018.

He might be up for a move away, then, and we’d perhaps suggest loaning him out to get those minutes instead of losing a striker of his calibre at the moment.

Let’s see what happens, though.
