Robbie Fowler has questioned Jurgen Klopp’s selection for our game with Everton yesterday as we drew the Merseyside Derby 1-1.
The Reds went into the game with the Blues as the favourites as we looked to make our home advantage tell in the latest meeting with the team across Stanley Park.
However, surprise was caused by Jurgen Klopp’s team selection for the game as the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino were dropped for the game.
It’s something a fair few have questioned since the match finished and Fowler has said that he feels the strongest players should have played – in an interview with LFCTV – uploaded by MatchDay TV on YouTube.
He also said:
“I’d have played the strongest team possible.
“I’m not having a go at the players who played, but play your strongest team and rest players midweek, because this game was more important.
