As quoted by the club’s official website, Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has spoken of the frustration at Anfield at the weekend against Everton.

The Reds were the dominant force against the Blues but couldn’t get a second goal before a silly penalty was conceded to end the game 1-1.

We really should have won it, but it was a case of a side coming to park the bus and nick a point and that is what happened.

And, though we’ve been better at breaking sides down this year, we’re still not quite there in terms of doing it every game – which is a worrying trend at Anfield.

Indeed, Gomez hinted at that by saying:

“We’ve seen it a few times this season at Anfield – people know the attacking threats we have and tend to sit off a bit, especially because we are so quick on the counter.”

Let’s hope, then, that the same process does not happen in the week as we face West Brom tomorrow.
