Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp boasts one of the best attacking lines in world football with starring trio Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino but it seems it’s not enough for the German boss, who wants another attacking signing.

The Reds have been widely linked with the services of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, who could become available this summer as Los Blancos president Florentino Perez eyes a major overhaul to his squad.

That could see the 29-year-old striker move away from the Santiago Bernabeu but Liverpool face major competition on the market, with Spanish outlet Don Balon stating Premier League leaders Manchester City have joined the hunt.

Pep Guardiola is said to want another attacker to improve his side’s depth after missing out on Alexis Sanchez in January and the Citizens are prepared to fight for Benzema’s signature, which could fetch as much as £43m.

Given the strength of Liverpool’s attack, missing out on Benzema wouldn’t be a major blow and fans may instead want the club to push for signings in other areas.
