Liverpool have excelled this season, firing themselves into the Champions League semi-finals, but a major battle could lie ahead this summer.
Mohamed Salah’s sensational form has seen him catch the eye of a number of European giants and Real Madrid have regularly been linked with a swoop for the 40-goal Egypt international, in what could become one of the biggest sagas of the summer.
Liverpool, understandably, are desperate to retain the services of the man they signed last summer from Roma but fending off serial Champions League winners Real Madrid in the market will be a difficult task- and it’s a battle they’re being backed to lose.
Speaking to KingFut.Com, former Premier League man Mido has backed his compatriot to jump to the ‘next level’ this summer by sealing a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Real Madrid want him, and we have all seen the poor performances of Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema with the 4-4-2. I was afraid that Salah might fail at Liverpool. But I think he is ready to jump to the next level. Real Madrid would be able to use his strengths.”
Mido went on to dub Salah, who’ll carry the hopes of his nation on his shoulders at this summer’s World Cup, as the best player in Egypt’s history.
“I know many people will disagree with this, but in my opinion, Mohamed Salah is the best player in the history of Egyptian football. Salah’s mentality is much better than mine. When I was young I did not get any advice, and this would come to hurt me later on.”
“We could see how strong he was mentally with the way he handled himself when he didn’t play at Chelsea.”
