Tuttosport (via Calciomercato) are reporting that Liverpool are one of three major clubs who will compete to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The 19 year old has reportedly decided it is best for his career to leave the San Siro in the summer, despite only having signed a new four year contract back in July.
In addition to the Reds, the Italian newspaper says that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain will be the two other major contenders to sign the Italian international.
Donnarumma is one of the brightest young prospects in Italian football but both he, and his agent Mino Raiola, have had run-ins with the club’s ‘Ultra’ supporters over the past year.
The stopper was reportedly in tears prior to the Coppa Italia match against Verona in December, following chants from Rossoneri supporters and a banner telling him to leave the club.
He has been at Milan since the age of 14 after leaving Napoli’s youth setup. Despite only being a teenager, Donnarumma has already made 116 senior appearances for the Serie A side.
