Liverpool are seeking further additions this summer as they aim to topple Manchester City from their Premier League perch next season and the Reds have been issued with a huge boost on the transfer market.

Monaco president Vadim Vasilyev has hinted that Thomas Lemar could leave the French principality side this summer for the right price, in comments made to Telefoot.

That will put Liverpool on alert, after Jurgen Klopp’s side first became attracted to the 22-year-old France international in the January window following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

The exit of Coutinho has given Liverpool with a spot to fill in their side as well as plenty of money to spend, though a deal for Lemar could exceed the club-record £75m spent to bring Virgil Van Dijk to Anfield from Southampton in January.

Liverpool could also face competition in the market as Premier League rivals Arsenal have long been stated to be interested in the youngster, although Klopp may feel he has the edge due to the club’s involvement in the Champions League.
