Liverpool have been attributed with an interest in a wealth of midfielders heading into the summer transfer window, as they seek a replacement for Germany ace Emre Can, and their eyes are reported to have been courted by Wolves’ Ruben Neves.

However, The Daily Mirror states Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has also set his sights on the Portugal international, who surprised many when he moved to the Championship side last season and has since excelled in the second-tier.

Spurs are seeking the Championship winner’s services as a replacement for veteran midfield ace Mousa Dembele, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract in north London and who could be sold during the summer.

Neves, 21, has scored six goals and contributed with one assist during his 40 appearances in the second-tier this season but is reported to be happy with Wolves, who have sealed a return to the Premier League next season and will command a huge for his services if he’s to be sold.
