Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to significantly bolster his midfield ranks this season, particularly ahead of the expected loss of Emre Can, but it seems he’ll have a major fight on his hands to land a prime target.
The Reds, along with Manchester United and Manchester City, have been attributed with an interest in Napoli’s Italy international Jorginho and the agent of the 26-year-old has confirmed ‘several’ clubs are eyeing his services.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, he said:
“I’ll talk with the club because Jorginho has another two years on his contract. But there are also several clubs interested in him, and we have to understand if Napoli want to move forward with their starters or not.”
Manchester City are said to be leading the chase for the five-cap Italy midfielder but the interest from other clubs on the continent could spark a fierce bidding war, which Liverpool are likely to be involved in.
