Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has started to identify a number of targets ahead of the summer transfer window and it could see his side go head-to-head in the market with one of their arch-rivals.

SportsMole report that the Reds and Manchester United are both monitoring the services of 17-year-old Santos starlet Rodrygo, who has already been likened to Brazil superstar Neymar after his impressive performances in South America.

The teenager grabbed the headlines last month after becoming the youngest ever scorer in the Copa Libertadores but Liverpool have been aware of his talents for a while, having first started to track the Brazil U17 international last year.

Manchester United and Barcelona have now joined the hunt though but a transfer would not be able to be completed until January 2019, when the teenager turns 18, and he’s reported to have a whopping £45m release-clause in his contract.

Comparisons to Neymar are understandably considering the player’s young age and affiliation to Santos.
