Liverpool are reportedly prepared to fork out £52million to sign Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Julian Brandt this summer, something which could set them up for supremacy in the 2018/19 season.

Transfer site Calcio Insider reports that the Merseyside club are willing to splash out for the 22-year-old, as they look to improve their attaching options at Anfield.

The report details that Leverkusen are prepared to sell the left-winger for around £52million and he signed a new contact until 2021 with them in April to boost his price tag.

Jurgen Klopp’s side appear to be in a great position to sign the Germany international and his potential arrival should be greeted with joy by supporters.

Brandt is a highly-rated wide man with a huge future ahead of him and could become a real star for his nation.

The left-winger has blistering pace that would be a nightmare for Premier League defences and also has the vision to see key passes.

He has managed 12 goals and seven assists in all competitions this term for Leverkusen, which is very impressive given his age.

Brandt has so much potential to grow into and Klopp would be the perfect mentor to show the attacker how to become even more of a goal threat.

Liverpool already have a quality squad that have managed to reach the Champions League final against Real Madrid this season, but there is certainly still more to come from them.

They have the potential to be a real force in the coming years and adding real depth to their squad could even see them battle Manchester City for the Premier League crown next year.

The terrific trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will take some stopping to be replaced in the starting XI, but creative genius Brandt could certainly be in the mix and play a vital role next year.
