Liverpool supporters on social media were blown away by midfielder Jordan Henderson after watching him featuring for England against Tunisia in the World Cup.
The current Reds captain played the whole 90 minutes of his nation’s game against Tunisia as they secured a 2-1 victory in their opening game of the prestigious tournament.
Henderson may not have grabbed the headlines by registering an assist or scoring a goal but Reds fans on Twitter were quick to heap praise on their club’s captain for his latest outing.
One supporter tweeted that the 28-year-old was the best player on the pitch while another claimed that he ran circles around the rest of his team.
Henderson featured 41 times for Jurgen Klopp’s side in his 2017/18 campaign, scoring one goal and registering one assist in the process.
One Reds supporter shared on Twitter that Henderson’s only problem was that he wasn’t a “highlight” player in a time where fans live for highlights, suggesting that he wouldn’t get the praise his display deserved.
However that appeared not to be the case in terms of Liverpool supporters after the England game as a large majority were gushing about the midfielder’s latest outing for his nation.
Live 4 Liverpool have rounded up the best tweets about Henderson’s performance for England on Monday:

Jordan Henderson is class. The problem is he isn’t a “highlight” player in a time when people live for highlight moments. #ENGvTUN #lfc #England

#LFC Henderson has had in general a good first half.
His passing was quicker, more decisive & positive, and more involved in set-pieces on both sides of the pitch.
Could yet become one of his finest matches in an England shirt.— Kevin Chan (@LuckyLukeXO) June 18, 2018

People questioned if Hendo could play in a two-man midfield. Yet here he is having to be a one-man midfield. Couldnt write it ? #LFC #ENG
