Liverpool are not interested in signing Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims in its live transfer blog (6:20pm, 20 June) that the Merseyside club have “no interest” in trying to land the Championship sensation this summer.

This comes after the Sun reported that Jurgen Klopp’s side were planning to hijack Tottenham’s interest in the 22-year-old.

It has ben reported that Villa want £40million for their highly-rated attacking midfielder, but Spurs are not willing to offer anything over £20million to bring him to the Premier League,

The latest report details a twist on the future of Grealish and it appears like the English youngster will not be ending up at Anfield.

Good move for Liverpool?

Grealish has shown through his career that he can produce moments of brilliance, but the midfield creator is not yet ready to play for a top-six club on a regular basis.

Cash-strapped Villa may have to move him on and picking him up for a bargain price would make sense for most of the Premier League giants, but he would be nowhere near the starting XI under Klopp right now.

Likely to happen?

It will be no surprise to see Grealish move on this summer to a top-flight club after impressing in the recent season for Villa, but Liverpool have already strengthened their midfield considerably and the latest report suggests they do not even have him on their transfer radar.
