Rochdale fans react after Williams deal agreed

|

Rochdale fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after agreeing a deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Jordan Williams.

Rochdale announced on their official website and Twitter account on Thursday that they had settled terms to land the midfield enforcer on a permanent transfer when his contract at Anfield expires on 1 July.

Williams subsequently revealed on the official website of the League One club that he was thrilled at agreeing a permanent transfer even though he will sever his ties with the Premier League giants to end an association that began at Under-14s level.

He explained that Dale manager Keith Hill was integral in persuading him to snub interest from other lower league clubs to seal a move to the Lancashire club on the foothills of the south penines.

The versatile midfielder, who is predominantly an anchorman but can also dictate the attacking play, has not made a senior appearance since last October, when he was struck by serious injury while on loan at Rochdale in the first half of last season.

But Rochdale fans saw enough of Williams to universally take to social media to hail him as a brilliant signing
