Liverpool have confirmed that midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza has signed a contract extension before departing the club to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan deal.

The Reds’ official website provided the update on the Brazilian midfielder and stated that he was now heading to Germany to join Eintracht Frankfurt who finished eighth in the Bundesliga last season.

While the Reds revealed that Allan had indeed put pen to paper on a new deal that would keep him at the club longer, they didn’t state when this new contract was set to expire.

OPINION

Hopefully one day Allan will be seen in a Reds shirt as he is yet to make an appearance for the Merseyside giants. The 21-year-old has had numerous temporary spells away from the club due to work permit issues keeping him from being able to feature for the Reds. The Liverpool Echo previously reported last summer ahead of Allan joining Apollon Limassol on loan that the Reds were hopefully that he would be able to gain a work permit ahead of next season. However given that Allan has been swiftly manoeuvred out of Anfield already this summer then clearly there has been no breakthrough regarding his work permit situation as of yet. Given that he can’t feature for the Reds then Jurgen Klopp’s side are doing what is best for the promising midfielder. After finishing eighth in the Bundesliga in their latest campaign, Eintracht Frankfurt will be looking to do even better next season and hopefully Allan can learn a thing or two while trying to aid their cause.
