Jurgen Klopp didn’t completely rule out Liverpool making a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Christian Pulisic in the future but admitted it’s not a possibility this summer.

The German manager conceded that the Reds have done their business and stated that as far as he was concerned there was no potential market regarding the winger’s sale currently.

However Klopp did heap praise on Pulisic who is worth $72million (£54.8million) according to SoccerEX’s latest report and shared that he was a fan of the attacker who he previously managed when at Dortmund.

“I like Christian, I’ve known him since he was a kid,” said Klopp in his press conference on Saturday, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“He’s still not really old, he’s a fantastic player, and it’s deserved people think highly of him in America, in Germany it’s the same.

“If he wants to play in England or whatever one day then for sure he has the chance to do so but he’s at a really good club for his development at this moment, it’s really good to be at a club where they know him already.”

“He had not his best season last year but he was still a decisive player but it’s important in that age group that there’s no rush. He still has 14 or 15 years to play in his career and that’s good and he wants to be the best Pulisic he can be. For this, there is still space for development.

“If – at one point – he will join us, I don’t know.

“I like him, it’s not that that could be the problem, but we respect contracts still and there’s no market I know about at the moment. We did our business and Dortmund are doing theirs. All good.”

OPINION

It seems the Reds won’t be making a move for Pulisic anytime soon but it’s good to hear that Klopp won’t completely rule out ever making a move for the talented attacker. The 19-year-old is destined to have a bright future in football as he has already made 97 senior appearances for Dortmund, which is crazy when you consider his age. Pulisic, who can feature on either flank as well as an attacking midfielder, would be a fantastic signing for the Reds to make but it’s understandable why they won’t launch a move this summer. The teen is clearly happy at Dortmund and the Reds’ already have enough attacking options to keep them among the goals next season. However as Klopp states if the player does start to dream of a move to England one day, then that would change his scenario. If the 19-year-old winger does fancy jumping to the Premier League anytime soon then the Reds will hopefully be the ones to catch him.
