Simon Mignolet’s agent has spoken out about his client’s future at Anfield and shared that the player has options to explore.

Nico Vaesen of Star Factory who manages the 30-year-old shot-stopper’s business shared that while the arrival of Alisson Becker doesn’t change his client’s situation, the current goal is to find a solution to Mignolet’s lack of playing time.

The experienced Premier League player featured 22 times for the Reds last season but fell behind Loris Karius in the pecking order at the club.

“It does not change the situation: our goal is to find a solution for Simon to play and the arrival of Alisson does not change that,” said Vaesen in an interview with Belgian publication Walfoot.

“We know that a player at 60-70 million euros (Alisson) does not put himself on the bench”

“We are looking at the situation and are looking for a solution for his playing time. There are options, the next few days will be decisive.

“Anything is possible, only one requirement, a good team in a good competition.”

OPINION

Mignolet who earns £60,000-a-week at Liverpool (Source: Total Sportek) is no doubt heading for the exit door as it’s hard to imagine him featuring regularly in Jurgen Klopp’s side next season. It seems the 30-year-old isn’t fussy where he goes as long as the club he joins are in a good competition, which basically means he’s looking at any team in the top-flight. While Mignolet is perhaps looking outside of England for his next move, his past experience will surely see English sides enquiring about his services. The 30-year-old may have made some high-profile blunders during his Reds’ career but he has spells where has been vital to the club keeping clean sheets. However one thing is for certain based on his agent’s comments, Mignolet’s future is set to become crystal clear over the next few days. While he is clearly not needed at Anfield any longer, it will be sad when the club part company with him as he has always been passionate when featuring for the club.
